Our family started out with registered Kunekunes, but quickly transitioned to Gloucestershire Old Spots. We purchased to 3 unregistered sows and a registered Boar from a breeder we knew and knew her pigs were full-blooded. We then purchased 2 Registered Sows and now have registered pigs. We have piglets several times a year and offer barrows for meat as well.
We are a small farm in south-central Virginia. We utilize regenerative ag practices with the incorporation of rotational pig management in an attempt to heal our farms land from a century of commercial crop farming. GOS pigs have grown to be a favorite of ours, and we hope to offer a registered litter or two a year from our stock. We hope our efforts help increase awareness and love of this breed, while also helping build up the genetic pool for GOS pigs in the US.
Rustic Roost and Wallow is a small acreage that emphasizes heritage breeds raised with the welfare of each animal in mind. We have one breeding pair of GOS pigs, one Hereford cross Sow, and we raise heritage turkeys all on pasture.
